Julie Lavergne’s decision to turn her goals into reality came very early. She had an interest in languages as a child, was keen on exploring the globe and was fascinated by the enchanting universe of the circus. She was determined to follow a path that would allow her to combine these areas of interest. She first trained to be an acrobatic gymnast, then went on to explore new frontiers, pursuing rigorous training in various circus disciplines. Concurrently, she studied languages and got her undergraduate degree in physical education.
Her hard work quickly paid off, allowing her to perform internationally. She focused on three circus specialties: the Cyr wheel, a large hoop that the performer controls from the interior, rolling around at a fast pace while doing acrobatic tricks; aerial silk; and aerial cube, the latter two being instruments with which she performs acrobatic feats at great heights. To date, she has performed in over 36 countries and has received two prestigious circus awards (China, 2007, and Budapest, 2008).
Having gained international recognition in the field of the circus, she was invited to take part in Cirque du Soleil’s “Wintuk” show in New York City from 2008 to 2010, in which she performed her solo Cyr wheel act. Today, Cirque du Soleil and large companies call upon her frequently to take part in various special or corporate events. Her will to succeed and her hard work have enabled Julie to achieve her goals: to see the world and to make her mark in a field where talent and creativity are the name of the game.
